Mansefield Farm

A Bed and Breakfast in Scottish Borders

Photo - Mansefield Farm

Mansefield is our family home where there is plenty of room to relax inside or out in the garden. We have three spacious bedrooms, two with hand basins. One has an en-suite shower/bathroom, one a private bathroom and the other a private shower room. The en-suite bathroom is generously proportioned and bright with a large shower.

The guest living room has easy chairs and sofa, a wood stove, television, piano, lots of books and doubles as the dining/breakfast room.

You can fish on our piece of the Blackadder River and the Tweed, the world's best salmon river, is only 8 or so miles away. There are many golf courses in the area, including the Roxburgh and lots of fine walks in the vicinity. There are lots of large grand houses to visit fishing off the coast at Eyemouth and Berwick can be arranged. There is a shed for storage of bikes and cycle routes are very close. Also lots of great walks both in the vacinity and the whole Borders. Edinburgh is only an hours drive away.
We can also provide accommodation for horses. There is wonderful riding to be had in the area and stabling is available if you wish to bring your horse. We do not provide riding for guests, however we do ask that all horses coming to stay should have up to date flu injections. There is also field space available.

The Private House Stay's Guide

Scottish Borders

This is a region which is drenched in the blood of countless battles with the English, and its many ruined castles and abbeys bear witness to this. It also has inspired the country's greatest poets and writers such as Robert Burns, John Buchan and Sir Walter Scott. The wildest and most spectacular scenery is to be found in the southern part of the region, but it is along the central valley of the River Tweed, between Peebles in the west and Kelso in the east, where you'll find most of the historic attractions. The hill walking and spa-town atmosphere of Peebles is recommended.
