A Bed and Breakfast in North Highlands
The Kylesku B&B is in an elevated position 50 yards back from the cul-de-sac road which leads to the Kylesku Hotel and the slipway. It is owned and run by David and Sarah Bowen who enjoy opening their home to guests visiting this unique corner of the north west Highlands. We offer a warm welcome, home-made biscuits and cake on arrival, a comfortable spacious living room for you to relax in which also opens out onto a large decking area overlooking the loch.
There are numerous white sand beaches in easy reach including the famous Sandwood Bay and Oldshoremore, Balnakiel and Achmelvich Bay. The RSPB reserve, Handa Island is 20 minutes away and Smoo Caves and the Bone Caves also make for fun exploring. Ardvreck Castle is 8 miles south and Balnakiel Craft Village 35 miles north in Durness. There are daily boat trips on Loch Glencoul leaving from the slipway by the hotel taking in the bird-life, seals and the highest waterfall in Britain.
We are of course surrounded by mountains including Munros and Corbetts, our nearest being Quinag. Walks range from simple undulating terrain to more challenging peaks like Arkle, Foinaven, Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp and Cul Mor and our local Munros, Ben More Assynt and Ben Hope.

The Private House Stay's Guide
The two areas of Caithness and Sutherland form Scotland's northern wilderness, north of Inverness. The scenery varies from wild cliffs and tiny islands to lonely moorland and remote sandy beaches with superb panoramic mountain views, plus tree-lined twisting roads and foaming rivers. Here you'll find dozens of ruined castles and ancient monuments, particularly in the east. There are also lots of golf courses and places where you can fish for salmon and trout. The boggy half of Caithness and Sutherland is known as the Flow Country (from the Old Norse word Floi meaning marshy ground).
